N Linear programming method : One of fully developed methods now in common use. Easily handles inequality constraints. Nonlinear objective functions and constraints handled by linearization.

N Quadratic Programming method: widely used method, nonlinear(quadratic) objective with linearized constraints can be effectively handled. W Interior point method: Another of the fully developed and widely used methods for OPF. It could easily handle inequality constraints. The advantage of this method is its ability to solve linear and quadratic objectives with much faster speed than the conventional simplex method.
